Who We Are

The church that Jesus built is not a denomination or part of a denomination. It is the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23). It is the bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:23ff). It is the blood-bought purchase of Christ  (Acts 20:28).

In Matthew 16:18,19, Jesus promised to build His church. In Acts 2, we read of the beginning of the church. The apostles received power and they preached the good news about Jesus. People were saved by obeying the command to repent and be baptized. The saved people were added to the church. This is the church Jesus promised to build.

The Richmond Hill Church of Christ is part of that church today. We are saved the same way as the people in Acts 2 were saved. We worship the same ways the church of the New Testament worshiped. We are organized the same way that the early church was organized (Philippians 1:1). Jesus is the head of this church and we have no headquarters on earth (Colossians 1:18; Hebrews 12:2). We use only the Word of God as our creed (Revelation 22:18,19). We call ourselves by a scriptural name (Romans 16:16), a name that shows that we belong to Christ (1 Peter 2:9 ASV).

It is our desire to reach lost souls to show them the way to Christ, to edify and strengthen Christians, and to help in benevolent efforts when it is possible.
